Christopher Peter Meloni, an American actor is best known for his character on the television show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. His passion for acting started when he was in college. He studied acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he's been in films and in television shows but it's the characters portrayed on small screens that has earned him fame. His ability to portray characters in both legal and non-legal settings is a draw for viewers. The first show he worked on was a television show, however, he was later a detective for the NYPD. He has been nominated multiple times for the highly coveted Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen performances. The actor is famous for his blue-piercing eyes, which have become the trademark of his character and has helped him in portraying tough characters with a sense of humor. People's magazine's Sexiest Men Alive 2006 featured him.
